The purpose of this project was to redesign the poster of a movie of my choosing. I had picked Tim Burton’s adaptation of the Broadway stage musical, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I used colors associated for Christmas time as the movie was released on Christmas of 2007 and illustrated the background to look as if it were snowing. For my illustration of the barber’s pole set as the main focal point of the poster, I used my knowledge of the history of what the red in a barber’s pole symbolized, that being blood, back in the Bronze Age, during which the pole was invented.
